The Federal Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a new
notification for the Eid holidays. The new notification does not mention the
closure of markets and public places during the Eid holidays from May 22 to 27.
According to details, the Federal Ministry of Interior has issued a new
notification of Eid-ul-Fitr interruptions. The Interior Ministry also issued a
holiday notification last week stating that there would be a nationwide holiday
from May 22 to 27.
Markets and public places were closed in a notification
issued last week. The May 16 notification explicitly ordered the closure of
public places to prevent the spread of the corona virus during the Eid al-Fitr
holidays.
In the previous notification, only medical stores and
essentials were allowed to open.
However, now the Interior Ministry has issued a new
notification for Eid-ul-Fitr holidays after some changes. The new Interior
Ministry notification does not mention the closure of markets and public places
during the Eid holidays from May 22-27. It is likely that markets and public
places will not be closed during Eid. It may be mentioned that a meeting of the
Central Route Hilal Committee has been convened on Saturday, May 23 to observe
the Eid-ul-Fitr moon in the country. The meeting will be chaired by Mufti
Muneeb-ur-Rehman in Karachi. On the other hand, according to the Meteorological
Department and astronomers, the moon of Shawwal is not likely to appear in the
country on Saturday, May 23.
